After much negotiation, thought, and deliberation (and also a 30+ year relationship!), I have decided to end my preferred provider status with Delta Dental Insurance company effective January 1st of 2026. After several unsuccessful attempts at communicating with Delta to better their reimbursements for our patients, I have decided I will continue to accept Delta Dental Insurance plans, however, I will do so as an unrestricted provider allowing me to place my patient’s care above all else.
Unfortunately, being a participating provider for Delta Dental has become harder for us as they are reducing our fees, sometimes by 40% or more. We have always maintained a high standard of care for our patients, and have been unwilling to compromise or cut corners just because of an insurance company’s shortcomings.
What does this mean for you? It will not affect ANY currently scheduled appointments for 2025. You can definitely continue to receive your dental care at our office, but encourage you to check with Delta regarding your specific plan. You will want to confirm your plan has out-of-network coverage. Our team will do their best to be up front, open, and honest about what will be best for you and I will do everything in my power to keep your out-of-pocket dental costs as low as possible. I will work with your budget in regards to payment options if you still wish to remain a part of our dental family. We truly hope you do.
**AS A COURTESY, WE ARE EXTENDING A 15% DISCOUNT ON ALL SERVICES IN 2026**
You may receive a notice about this from Delta. I have seen it personally from many of my dentist friends who have recently made this same decision. It may suggest you must see an in-network dentist, however, that is not true. Other respected providers that have previously made this change noticed many of their patients have chosen to keep the high level of care they have become accustomed to.
We appreciate your loyalty, and hope this has only a positive impact on your dental care. Please call our office if you have any questions about your benefits or to discuss your specific dental situation.
Keep Smiling Always!
Dr. Todd Whitlock
